Keshav Srushti - City Forests
City Forests is an initiative by Keshav Srushti to create dense plantation and greenery in small lands within the city. It is a collection of trees, that grows within a city, town or a suburb. In a wider sense, it is done in Akira Miyawaki Method which includes many species of plants and trees and grows very rapidly.
City Forests improve the environment in the neighborhood, it ensures rich biodiversity, reduces air pollution, dampens noise and helps cooling down in summers. Greenery is also essential for a climate-proof and sustainable environment and . In addition, there is a positive effect on the health and social connections of people living, working and recreating in a green environment.
AKIRA MIYAWAKI METHOD
Based on the concept of “Potential Natural Vegetation”, the "AKIRA MIYAWAKI TECHNIQUE"
restores and reconstructs forests, by developing natural and maintenance free forest is in just 2-3
years. In this method the afforestation growth is 10 times faster than conventional forest tree
plantations.
This method is only based on native tree species and has 30 times more CO2 absorption
and water retention. With multi-layered plantation it has a higher density of more than 50
plants per 10 square meter.
